Applied Visual Sciences Grieves the Passing of Michael Trudnak, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer

The Board of Directors of Applied Visual Sciences today reports, with deep sadness, the passing of Michael W. Trudnak, age 61, the company’s co-founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.  Mr. Trudnak passed away on April 18th after a brief, but spirited battle against cancer.  Mr. Trudnak directed the company since its founding in 2003.

Mike’s passing is a terrible personal loss for all of us at APVS.  His commitment to APVS occupied a central part of his life and his passion for our technology was infectious.  For those of us who knew him well, he engendered a sense of affection and loyalty through his candor, openness, and integrity and through his unique sense of humor. While Mike was extraordinarily passionate about his work and APVS, his greatest pride was his family and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.  We shall miss Mike deeply.

The Board has named William J. Donovan as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.  Mr. Donovan has been with the company since August 2003 and has most recently served as APVS’s President and Chief Operating Officer, as well as a Director.  Mr. Gregory E. Hare will assume the Board Secretary responsibilities previously held by Mr. Trudnak.  The company’s leadership team will continue in their present responsibilities and no immediate changes are anticipated in the company’s day-to-day business activities.

In memory of Mike and his life, we dedicate a poem by the American Poet, Bessie A Stanley.

He Has Achieved Success

He has achieved success who has lived well, laughed often and loved much;                       who has enjoyed the trust of pure women, the respect of intelligent men and the love of little children;                                                                                                                               who has filled the niche and accomplished his task;                                                                   who has left the world better than he found it;                                                                             whether by an improved poppy, a perfect poem, or a rescued soul;                                         who has never lacked appreciation of Earth’s beauty or failed to express it;                         who has always looked for the best in others and given the best he had.                                 Whose life was an inspiration;                                                                                                         whose memory a benediction.
