Tom Ramsay Awarded 2013 Alumnus of Notable Achievement

Tom Ramsay (VP of Research) has been selected from hundreds of thousands of candidates to receive the University of Minnesota’s 2013 Alumnus of Notable Achievement.  The College of Liberal Arts has bestowed this honor on Tom based on the excellence of his work in the field of photography, his many inventions (including patents granted both before and during his time with Applied Visual Sciences), his projects on behalf of saving the environment, his teaching experience and his cutting-edge developments in the field of image analysis.  Included in his accomplishments are breakthroughs in fingerprint imaging, as well as a joint effort with his brother Gene and Sony Corporation on the restoration of Thomas Edison’s films for the Library of Congress.

The Board, Management and Staff of Applied Visual Sciences congratulate Tom on this well-deserved honor.
