On June 16th, several directors and executives from Applied Visual Sciences, Inc. were afforded an opportunity to present our technologies and to strategize with executives from ONE, the international advocacy foundation established by U2’s Bono. After a formal presentation focused on APVS’s capabilities, technologies, and products, the discussions moved to how APVS could effectively use the ONE organization, its political connections in Africa, and its access to healthcare initiatives in Africa to efficiently move TBDx into the African marketplace.
In addition, strategies were discussed to identify research and development funding agencies to expand upon the technology platform developed for tuberculosis. ONE has a major focus on minimizing the impact of malaria in Africa and expressed a strong interest in seeing the technology platform expanded to include a malaria detection application.
ONE embraced our technology and offered their assistance and referral to other key shareholders interested in Africa. In the next several weeks we expect to be conducting meetings and presentations with individuals and organizations introduced by ONE.
ONE is a grassroots advocacy and campaigning organization that fights extreme poverty and preventable disease, particularly in Africa, by raising public awareness and pressuring political leaders to support smart and effective policies and programs that are saving lives, helping to put kids in school and improving futures. Cofounded by Bono and other campaigners, ONE is nonpartisan and works closely with African activists and policy makers.
