This newest patent expands APVS’s intellectual property protection to 5 patents. It addresses the identification of features of interest in hyperspectral imaging. Hyperspectral imaging collects data from across the entire electromagnetic spectrum including visible light, as well as the range from ultraviolet to infrared.
Hyperspectral remote sensing is used in a wide array of real-life applications. Although originally developed for mining and geology, it has now spread into fields as widespread as ecology and surveillance.
Our ability to analyze and differentiate objects across the entire spectrum of light expands our technical capabilities to new levels of opportunity beyond homeland security and healthcare, into areas as diverse as satellite image analysis, military applications for aerial surveillance, and sub-surface analysis of mineral deposits.
